In my classes, you can expect mindfulness, exploration and creativity. Whether we are moving in the more fluid vinyasa style, or a steadier hatha class, we will strive for a balanced blend of sthira and sukha (effort and ease) to leave you feeling open and nourished. I enjoy sharing pranayama, asana, meditation and somatic movement to support the purpose of the class. I feel so deeply grateful to share this practice with you.
To me, yoga is connection and the intention that we carry with us in all moments. It is practicing to link our body, mind and spirit to move from a place of wholeness and integration. We use the time on our mats and meditation cushions to cultivate how we want to BE in this challenging and beautiful world.
I am inspired in my teaching by consistent study, daily practice and never-ending exploration. I find inspiration through my work as a massage therapist and years of study in African diasporic dance. It never ceases to amaze me how different each body is and I love continuing to expand my knowledge so that I may assist people with different body types, and different backgrounds. In my 200hr teacher training with Audra Carmine and Jessica Garay, I discovered how an abundance of love and support gives people the platform on which to flourish. I aspire to share with my students the knowledge that has been shared with me. I have many teachers; I am currently inspired by Kate Busby, Kelly Sunrose, Audra Carmine, Jessica Garay and Todd Jackson.
