In my classes you can expect opening grounding practices to steady the mind, high energy vinyasa flows to release toxicity, Polyvagal theory infused teachings to grow understanding of our unique nervous systems and a space for closing in deep relaxation.
To me yoga is radical self-care to cultivate a place of refuge and renewal. Through yoga, meditation and connection you can more sustainably work in service to others. I believe in the power of a community with full hearts, open minds, and healthy bodies to seek a more just world.
I am inspired in my teaching by Jessica and Audra who led my 200 hour teacher training, Deb Dana's work on Polyvagal theory for healing, trauma informed yoga principles from Street Yoga, the poetry of Rumi and Hafiz, and the boundless love and energy of my two sweet boys.
As a clinical social worker, I will incorporate my knowledge of anxiety reduction and grounding techniques to enhance your well being and build resilience for life's ups and downs. I have led support groups for teen trauma survivors, grief and loss, and mood management for many years and am thrilled to offer yoga as another pathway to healing!
