What do I do first?

Create an account online before coming to the studio. This truly helps cut down on time signing you into class and getting you set up and comfortable. You can create an account HERE or you can download the Mindbody App on your phone HERE. If you do not create an account online ahead of time but still want to come, you are of course still welcome. Please try to arrive 5 - 10 minutes ahead of the start time of class if you need to register at the studio.

What should I bring?

Really just yourself in comfortable clothing is fine. If you have a yoga mat and a water bottle, even better.

What happens in a Yoga class?

Most of the time we move our bodies in a series of poses that are held for various amounts of time, linked with breath, and vary in difficulty. Sometimes we talk about the philosophical teachings, chant mantras, and read poems. Breath practices also happen as well as seated meditation. We consider Yoga to be a spiritual practice that is a universal path, open and welcoming to all people without strict dogma or rigidity. You are encouraged to be free, to believe in whatever you'd like, to move your body exactly like you, and to then offer that same support and acceptance to others. Our intention at Love Hive Yoga is to create a community of open hearted people who resonate with the idea that we are all deserving of love and connection, that we all belong, and that moving with the breath is one way to help facilitate that connection.

How much does it cost?

Drop-ins are $15. We offer a New Student Special which is $30 for 30 days of unlimited yoga available to you upon your first visit. This gives you the opportunity to investigate the variety of styles and teachings available at Love Hive Yoga.  Learn more about pricing HERE.

Do you rent mats?

Yes. We have Hugger Mugger Tapas yoga mats for rent for $2.

I feel nervous or maybe even a bit timid, even intimidated about trying yoga.

Anytime something is new and unknown, that can be a vulnerable place. We understand that. We pride ourselves on being welcoming and receptive to every person who strides through the door. We strive to be pretention free and to create an environment where everyone is accepted and welcomed. When you arrive, please let us know that you are new and if you are feeling a little unsure so that we can better serve you. Simply stop by the desk and introduce yourself to the teacher.  Let us know this is your first class and we will help you to feel right at home.  If you have any specific concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at lovehiveyoga@gmail.com
